(NEW YORK) Style maven Charla Krupp died Monday afternoon after losing her battle with breast cancer at the age of 58. Krupp was widely known for three decades in the media circuit as an industry trailblazer. For starters, she was the first fashion print editor to garner her own monthly TV style segment, and she conceived and co-hosted E!'s first Academy Awards Fashion Review—before red carpet coverage was de rigueur. The matter-of-fact style guru made regular PAs on over 30 national television shows including The Oprah Winfrey Show, Good Morning America, Rachael Ray, Dateline, The View—and The Today Show, where she racked up over 130 style segments as a contributor.

Krupp served as Glamour's entertainment editor for 15 years, where she established the coveted Glamour 's Women of the Year Awards. From 1995 to 1997, she decamped to become the senior editor of InStyle, brainstorming popular features like InStyle Shopper, Wise Buys, Cheap Chic, and Getting Gorgeous, which contributed to the glossy's circulation increase from 350,000 to one million. After two years at InStyle, the celebrated editrix returned to Glamour as beauty director. Back in 2000, Krupp was executive editor of since-shuttered Shop, Etc.; most recently, she held a contributing editor position at People StyleWatch.

Along with her magazine industry legacy and countless hours of televised face-time, Krupp made headlines as an award-winning editor and journalist, writing for publications like Time, The New York Times, Town & Country, and USA Today Weekend. Krupp also penned two New York Times-bestselling tomes: How Not to Look Old and her 2010 follow-up, How To Never Look Fat Again.

Charla Krupp is survived by her husband,Time's theater critic Richard Zoglin, her mother, siblings, and two nieces. To honor her memory, the Krupp-Zoglin family has established the Charla Krupp Memorial Fund for Women in Media at the University of Illinois, where Krupp graduated at the top of her class with a degree in journalism. Her funeral service will be held tomorrow, January 25, at 1 p.m. at the Goldman Funeral Home in Skokie, Illinois.
