Wu's Lively Winddown
(NEW YORK) Doing doubles at Double Seven this fashion week? Well, that seems to be inevitable, as the MePa joint is one of the 'hood's apparent staples for post-show shindigs this season (lucky for the runway-fatigued party people, The Dream Downtown and all of The Standard's debauchery dens are a brief stumble away) for all sorts of post show shindigs. Of course it’s never too early to begin celebrating, so despite the 8 p.m. start time for Jason Wu's afterparty last night, there was no short supply of chicsters.
The man du moment (but don’t you just love seeing his adorableness and feminine pieces all over the place right now?!) was having a ball, receiving a line of well wishers and no doubt breathing a sigh of relief that both Target and his eponymous lines have been well executed. Model darling Joan Smalls made an appearance while the crowd enjoyed blackberry cocktails grazie to the vodka of fashion week as it seems, by Belvedere.
Uptown girls like the Clarins sisters and Michelle Harper came to fete Wu, along with the requisite gaggle of editors (see: Stephanie LaCava, Jane Keltner De Valle, et al). We’re surprised that Coco Rocha didn’t bust an Irish step dance move, though the DJ was strictly spinning contemporary tunes from M83 and Kanye. Though the temperatures are finally dropping in NYC (mixed feelings about this), you wouldn’t know it from the steamy interior and summer rolls floating around from cocktail waitresses. If anyone deserves a reason to pretend that they’re on a tropical vacation right now, it’s you, Mr. Wu!
